Terms

Terms of use

Effective 11 October 2026

These terms are written to be read. They explain what you can expect from Flipd and what Flipd expects from you.

Using Flipd

By using Flipd you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. Flipd is provided free of charge, without accounts.

Your PDFs

Your work stays yours. Flipd claims no ownership of anything you open, share or turn into a video.

You’re responsible for what you share. Only share PDFs you have the right to share, and make sure that sharing them, and letting anyone with the link view and download them, doesn’t break any law, contract or someone else’s rights, including copyright and privacy.

When you share a PDF, you allow Flipd to store it and show it to anyone who has the link, only for as long as the link is live and only to provide the service.

What isn’t allowed

Don’t use Flipd to share anything unlawful, including material that infringes someone’s rights, exploits or endangers children, harasses or threatens people, exposes someone’s private information without permission, or contains malware or phishing. Don’t try to disrupt the service, get around its limits or access shares that aren’t yours. Flipd may remove a shared copy that breaks these terms.

  • A link is unlisted but not private: anyone who has it can view and download the PDF. Choose carefully who you send it to.
  • Links stay live for 30 days. The browser that created a link can extend it once, for another 30 days, while it’s live.
  • A link and its embeds stop working at expiry, and the hosted copy is then queued for deletion. Deleting a shared copy starts its removal straight away.
  • Managing a link depends on the owner details saved in the browser that created it. If they’re lost, for example by clearing browser data or choosing Forget, that browser can no longer extend or delete the link, and it will stay live until it expires.
  • Once someone has downloaded a PDF, Flipd can’t control or recall that copy.

Not a storage service

Flipd isn’t a backup or permanent storage service. Shared copies are temporary by design, and the service may be unavailable, slow or interrupted at times. Always keep your own copy of your PDFs.

Browsers, devices and videos

Flipd runs in your browser and depends on what your browser and device support. Very large PDFs and high-resolution videos need more memory, and some browsers can’t create videos at all. Videos are created on your device; you’re responsible for how you use and publish them, including the pages they show.

No warranty

Flipd is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. That includes any promise that it will work without errors, display every PDF perfectly, or be available at any particular time.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Flipd and the people who build it aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, content, profits or opportunities, arising from using or being unable to use Flipd, including a link expiring, being deleted or being opened by someone you didn’t intend. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Changes

Flipd may change, pause or stop the service or any feature, and may update these terms. Updated terms will appear here with a new effective date; continuing to use Flipd after that means you accept them.
